Home Made Cahhhndles 101

Hello!

Hand made cahhhndles (aka candles) are a little different than the ones that are mass produced by major retailers and chains.

For instance, I only use a blend of soy, hemp and coconut wax in my cahhhndles. I don't add any other waxes to my cahhhndles. Because of this, they burn a little differently than other candles.

To get the most out of your cahhhndle...

  • Make sure to allow the wax to melt long enough for it to melt completely to the edges. This will help prevent “tunneling.”
  • Trim the wick to 1/4” before relighting your cahhhndle. This will help keep the wax clean and burning nicely.
  • Avoid burning your cahhhndle for over 3 hours at a time.

  • For those that really, really, REALLY want to get the most out of their candle...and love wax melts: once the wick to your cahhhndle has gone to live on a farm with a nice family, put it in your freezer upside down overnight. Take it out whenever. In most cases, the wax will drop. If it doesn't: use a butter knife, paperclip, whatever you can find, and run it along the sides of wax. Break up this large, round, and circular bit of wax, and place it in your melter. I throw mine in with the wick holder, and just dump it out after a couple of days.
  • Take your cahhhndle container and place it in your recycling bin...or use it for something else, but please do not throw it in your trash can.
